我々人間の命の間、自分というものが周りで起こっていることの中に溶けてしまう可能性が高い時期がある。その時期に自分を完全になくす可能性もある。自分をなくすというのはどのようなことなのだろう？周りの状況に集中し、応えるために自分という存在を小さな箱に入れておく。そうすれば、その存在を守ることができるはずなのだ。しかし、その状態、その箱は安定していない。本人から離れている自身は脆弱だ。時間が経ちすぎると、箱のある場所がわからなくなってしまうのかもしれない。そうなると、朝日の中の霧のように、少しずつ自分という存在が消えるのである。

その過程に抗うためにはどのような方法を使えばいいのだろう？自分という存在を箱から出しても、それを固めるのには精神的なエネルギーが必要だ。簡単な行為ではない。そのような時は個人的な方法しかないこともある。自分を認める行動が必要かもしれない。自分がどんどん固まり、出てくる。そのときに確実に捕まえないといけないのだ。

自然の中で、世界との関係を思い出すかもしれない。人間は自然の一つの存在である。自然の環境で、そういう存在として自分というものを認める可能性がある。それとも、瞑想しながら、精神に深く入り込むと自分というもののある場所を見かけるかもしれない。個人的な方法しかないかもしれない。しかし、それをみつければ、自分という存在が戻ってくるのだけではなく、自分がより強くなり、成長するのである。

現在、梅レコードは、アメリカ、クイーンズ、ニューヨークの Great Ghost のアルバム ”1000 Years of Good Luck” をリリースする。

In our lives as humans, there are times when the self has a chance of being dissolved in the events happening around us. It is possible, in these times, that the self could be completely lost. What does it mean to lose the self? To concentrate on and respond to the situation around oneself, one puts the self's existence in a small box. Doing so should protect the self. However, this condition, this box, is not stable. The self, separated from its owner, is fragile. If too much time is to pass, one may come to lose sight of the box's location. If this happens, then like mist fading in the morning sun, the self may slowly disappear.

What methods should be used to oppose this process? Even once the self has been taken out of its box, solidifying it requires psychological energy. It is not a simple process. Such times, one may need to find one's own methods. Actions to recognize the self may be necessary. The self will solidify and show itself. When this happens, one must grab hold of it tightly.

Surrounded by nature, one may recall one's relation with the world. Humans are one existence in nature. In the natural environment, there is the possibility of recognizing the self as one such existence. Or, perhaps while meditating and going deep within one's spirituality, one may come upon the location of the self. One may need to find one's own methods. However, if one does find the self, it will not simply return, but instead do so stronger and more developed.
