昔の多くのSF言説によると、技術とは人間の意志の延長だ。技術の恐ろしさは結局、人間の意志、人間の魂の恐ろしさである。スーパーコンピューター、アンドロイド、大量破壊兵器などは、人間性の限界を示すものであり、人間の意志の暗部を明らかにするものでもある。人類は人間性を無くさずに、どこまでいくことができるのか？今まで、技術的な未来についての探索はこのような問題と戦ってきた。この主題の中心には人間の行為主体性があるのだ。

しかし、現在では別の現象が起こっている。「おすすめ」を提示するアルゴリズム、文書や画像を生成するAIなど、多くの研究や開発は、人間の主体性が脅かされる方向へとどんどん進んでいる。技術の世界から人間性が消えていく恐れがあるのだ。それが起こると、いったい何が残るのだろうか？

現在、梅レコードは、日本、富山市の Virtual Debris のアルバム "Beyond" をリリースする。

In many past science fiction novels, technology is an extension of the human will. The threat posed by technology is ultimately that of the human will, and human soul. Super computers, androids, weapons of mass destruction, measure the boundaries of human nature, and shed light on the dark regions of the human will. How far can humans go without losing their humanity? Until now, explorations into the technological future have grappled with this question. At the center of this subject ultimately lies human agency.

However, in reality a different phenomenon is occurring. From recommendation algorithms to text and image generating AI - both research and development are leading us in a direction that puts human agency at risk. There is a danger of human agency disappearing from the realm of technology. And if that happens, what then will be left?

Umé Records presents the album "Beyond" by Toyama, Japan's Virtual Debris.
