about

"What would we do with this recaptured time? But does this question really require an answer? Isn't it simply enough to pose it? Is it really necessary to know what we would do with our time in order to assess the value of free time, this free time which is synonymous neither with repose for our bodies and our over-taxed brains nor, even less, with boredom; rather, free time allows us to calm the mind and to contemplate our environment, to mingle with it, and, by plunging our attention to the depths of our being, permits us to come into intimate contact with our own selves - in sum, to reflect without its being necessary to specify the purpose of these reflections in any way." *

~

The nature of time, under numerous influences, changes like a liquid. As though in the flow of an eternal river, we continue forward, sometimes peacefully, and sometimes as though in a torrent. Our experience of the flow of time is always changing. Although physical time should not change, all of our times line up and fall out of synchronicity with it.

In the turbulent flow, how is one to find tranquility? When the body rests, the mind rushes forward. Or else, as the hands of the clock spin, the flow within one's heart comes to a halt.

We must connect the flow within ourselves with eternal time, and thus transcend.
